Western Cape EMS Service selects CareMonX suite

The Western Cape Government: Health Emergency Medical Services (WCG-EMS) has selected Valentia’s CareMonX EMS suite as the key enterprise software component of a major 5-year ZAR256.0m investment in EMS infrastructure signed with Dimension Data.

Under the 5-year contract, Valentia will implement all system components of its comprehensive CareMonX suite in all publicly-funded EMS services across Western Cape Province. These include Emergency CAD Call Taking and Dispatch Management (CareMonX CAD), Ambulance Mobilisation (CareMonX MDT), Point-of-Care Patient Care Reporting (CareMonX ePCR), Patient Transport Services (CareMonX PTS), in addition to CareMonX ERP systems for Paramedic Management & Credentialing, Crew Scheduling & Rostering, Ambulance Fleet Management, Inventory Management, Clinical Audit, Billing Management, and Operational & Business Intelligence. Overall, the CareMonX EMS suite will to address all clinical and operational computing requirements of WC-EMS in one fully-integrated system.

In addition to approximately 500 land ambulances and response vehicles, the solution will also be deployed in sea and air rescue services. A key initial focus will be on implementing CareMonX CAD across all call centres in Western Cape Province in order to improve the quality of service and reduce ambulance response times. For communications, the system will utilise public cellular networks and the Cape Town TETRA network. The overall solution will be configured to be very patient centric, based on local requirements.
