August 18, 2015

Valentia Technologies, the leading developer of software solutions for the community healthcare industry, together with TCP Homecare, the leading provider of community nursing services in Ireland, will host a half-day conference entitled “Modern Healthcare: The Changing Face of Community Nursing” on Friday, 18 September 2015 at the Royal College of Physicians, Kildare Street.

Chaired by Maureen Gaffney, Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Society at UCD, the conference will examine various drivers of change supporting the shift to community healthcare in Ireland, with topics ranging from covering everything from enabling technologies to OPAT services in Ireland.

Attendees will hear from a panel of industry experts, including Brian Murphy, Head of Planning, Performance and Programme Management, HSE; Brenda Reginatto, Lead Researcher, Applied Research for Connected Health, UCD; and Padraig Duff, Operations Director, TCP. Also speaking will be Dr. Susie Clarke, National Clinical Lead, Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy Programme; Dr. Ian Callanan of Aviva Health Insurance and St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group; and Peter Nelson, of Valentia Technologies.

Announcing the programme for the conference today, Peter Nelson from Valentia Technologies said, “This conference will look at some of the new technologies and service models that are transforming the community healthcare sector by keeping patients out of hospital and safely managed in the community. Electronic community healthcare records (EHRs) are a clear example of how a technology-based solution can not only significantly improve services to patients, but also drive efficiencies by helping to reduce tertiary dependencies and free up hospital beds.”
